“Practice makes the master”
WHY DO WE KEEP THE PRACTICA AS A SEPARATED SPACE?
Few people practice, most people don’t. Our goal is to share a practice program that you can adapt to your own interest and level. Allow yourself to see your dance grow much faster. Our practica is also open to those who are not our students. It gives you the possibility to be more focused and free than in any other social tango situations. More about us here, and here.
“Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow”
So, once in the practica space/time YOU ARE FREE. This means you can choose to dance or not… how come? Well, observing other people dance is also a way of practice. And dancing as you are being observed is also something different from what you may be used to. So nobody is going to force you to dance at all. However, we understand we get together at this space to improve our own dance, and so it’s expected (for your own good) to practice according to what YOU want to practice, or according to the proposal of the day.
“Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice… and practica gives you more knowledge!”
We have written some ideas to be intended as a guide for those who are not very experienced in practicing by themselves. And again, these ideas are not a must to follow. You can do whatever you want with them. You could let these ideas inspire you to do something different, or even the complete opposite!!! The point is to practice anything that makes you happier and a better dancer. And, at least from our own experience, the better you become, the happier you’ll be!
So, once you let us know that you want to sign in to our practica, we’ll send you some guidelines for you to read before coming. This way you will get much more from your practice time. Because remember:
“It’s not necessarily the amount of time you spend at practica that counts: it’s what you put into the practice time.”
